Important COLOR-A-THON information

In order to participate you must have registered with your $30 donation prior to the event.  Walk up registration will be available.

  1. Parking/Route - The Color-A-Thon route will be 4 laps around the Edison Middle School block starting and ending in the NORTH parking lot.  This parking lot is where color will be thrown on participants. 
    We are encouraging parking on residential streets in order to keep the lot clear.  If you use this lot to pick up your student, we intend to limit traffic starting at 4:05 for safety reasons.

  2. Participants are asked to wear their Color-A-Thon t shirt they receive in their packet over the shirt they are already wearing.  Please do not wear your best clothes for the race as color will get on your clothing.  By wearing the Color-A-Thon t shirt over your clothes, you will be able to remove the shirt prior to getting in vehicles after the race.

    New this year: Colorless route for those who prefer not to have color thrown on them.

    Information on the Color Blast Dust ingredients: Corn starch and FD&C and/or D&C colors.  Color safety information:  Approved for use in foods, cosmetics and/or drugs.  These products are not considered hazardous, 29CFR 1910-2100.  If you or your child have asthma or allergies, it is suggested that you limit exposure to the color dust.  It is a fine dust that could potentially aggravate current health conditions.  The Dye used is completely safe and will wash out of clothes but it is recommended that you wear things you don’t mind getting a little colorful.  If you have light-colored hair, or if it’s expected to be rainy or humid, it is suggested adding some leave in conditioner.

    If you are concerned at all about color after the race, we encourage you to bring an extra set of clothes to change into after the event.

  3. Parents please meet your student outside on the football field.  If you are registered and participating, they will have your packets.  There is no need for parents to come into the school.  This will help with traffic flow.
  4. Parents please pick up your student by 5:30pm
  5. New this year:  ICE CREAM SALES  Bring $2 and enjoy an ice cream treat, or 2 or 3.
  6. We have over 250 participants and still are in need of volunteers!  Remember you can help and still enjoy all the fun of the event.
